nopstrup.dk is up and running

Yesterday, I finally managed to get nopstrup.dk live. This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time.

And although I don’t expect anyone sitting around waiting for me to launch a website, I still hope that there will be visitors now and then reading my blog entries and soon-to-come articles.

So, what is this website about?

Well, first of all it’s about me … but before you click away screaming, some of the content will also be interesting ;-)

Okay, when will this ever happen?

First of all I need to build a proper site. This is done with Drupal - the world’s most awesome Content Management System. Thanks to @mortendk for pointing that out several times at DrupalCamp Copenhagen 2009 (been there, got the t-shirt).

After failing exceedingly to install Drupal on my MacBook Pro directly from CVS, I turned to a colleague of mine at Peytz & Co. for help. Camilla aka. naxoc directed me to drupalbog.dk where she had been kind enough to write a step-by-step guide in Danish for installing the Acquia Drupal stack. After pressing Next a couple of times the site was up and running.

Yesterday I uploaded the site to my hosting provider, and now I write the very first blog entry. See how fast it goes :-)

Hmm, your site still looks like you need a designer

I’m aware that there’s still room for improvement – but hey it’s up and running and I’m all excited about it.

Best wishes,
- nopstrup

Congratulations :)

I'd recommend enabling the OpenID module or perhaps anonymous commenting (and a spam filter). Going through the process of signup and e-mail-confirmation just to leave a comment is a bit long-winded :)
